Congressman Joe Kennedy endorses Lori Trahan for Congress
LOWELL, Mass (Oct. 18, 2018) – Congressman Joe Kennedy III today endorsed Lori Trahan, Democrat for Congress in the Third District, at a Downtown Lowell rally.
Kennedy, a third term representative from the Fourth District, told the crowd that Trahan represents the ideals of American democracy.
“On November 6, people in this district and across the country will have an opportunity to elect leaders like Lori who believe that America stands for a place where everyone is seen, where everyone counts, where everyone can succeed.” Kennedy said.
Trahan said she will work with Kennedy in fighting for working and middle class families on affordable, universal health care, good paying jobs with benefits, high quality public education, affordable college, and addressing one of the country’s most pressing public health issues – solving the opioid epidemic.
“We need more leaders in Washington like Congressman Kennedy who know how to build things up and not just tear them down. Who understand that our strongest economy is one that works for everybody. And who put working and middle class families first.”
Kennedy joins Congresswoman Katherine Clark, Congresswoman Niki Tsongas, U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren and Attorney General Maura Healey in endorsing Lori in the general election, along with all of Lori’s former Third District Democratic primary opponents – Dan Koh, Rufus Gifford, Juana Matias, Barbara L’Italien, Bopha Malone, Alexandra Chandler, Jeffrey Ballinger, Beej Das, Leonard Golder.
