Lori Trahan, a consulting firm executive and former chief of staff to Congressperson Marty Meehan, announces her run to succeed Rep. Niki Tsongas in the Third District:
Trahan, a Democrat, had been fundraising for weeks while considering a bid for the 3rd District. Her Thursday announcement makes her candidacy official.
“I’m running for Congress to fight for working families who need an effective voice in Washington,” Trahan said in a press release. “I will work hard for the people who are being marginalized and left behind, and I will fight for the values and economic opportunities that make this country great.”
