Westford’s Trahan eyes 3rd District U.S. rep seat / Lowell Sun

Lori Trahan, a consulting firm CEO who served as Marty Meehan’s chief of staff when he was a congressman, appears to be positioning herself for a shot at replacing in Congress the woman who replaced Meehan, Rep. Niki Tsongas.

Trahan, a 43-year-old Democrat, filed an official statement of organization with the Federal Election Commission Sunday. Since launching an online fundraiser on Sept. 13, she has raised more than $10,000 toward her push for the 3rd Congressional District.
