Lowell State Representatives Thomas Golden, David Nangle and Rady Mom Endorse Lori Trahan for U.S. Congress
NOV. 24, 2017, LOWELL, MA – Lori Trahan, candidate for the 3rd Congressional seat, today received the endorsement of state Rep. Thomas Golden, Rep. David Nangle, and Rep. Rady Mom, all Democrats from Lowell. The endorsement of Lori Trahan by three state legislators from Lowell marks the first endorsements by elected officials from inside the 3rd district for any candidate in the race.
“I am incredibly grateful to have the full support of Representatives Golden, Nagle and Mom so early in this campaign,” said Lori Trahan. “Each of these men are leaders who represent the very best in public service, and I’m truly honored and humbled to have their support.”
“I’ve known Lori and her family for a long time, and she is one of us,” said Rep. Nangle. “She was raised in a working class family on Staples Street, and has spent her life here in Greater Lowell. It has shaped the person she is today. She understands the issues and concerns of the people who live and work here, and would be a fierce advocate in D.C. for this city and this District.”
“As someone who was born in Cambodia and fled a war-torn country, I appreciate that Lowell has always been a welcoming place for me and my family – and many others who call this place home,” said Rep. Mom. “Lori is a proven leader who understands the importance of diversity and inclusiveness, and will fight to make sure all members of our community have a voice.”
“Lori is incredibly hard working, she shares our values, and she will fight for the things that are important – good paying jobs, economic prosperity for our region, high quality healthcare, an affordable pathway to college and careers, and many other issues that matter to the people who live and work here in Lowell,” said Rep. Golden. “No one is better qualified than Lori to represent this community in Washington, and I am proud to be with her and provide my support.”
